The photography of the Mammals Gallery at Manchester Museum is almost complete, we are now in the editing stages. Lighting was difficult, with various different light sources being tricky to balance. The majority of the cases were shot with the glass doors open to minimise reflections and flare, are we used our Bowens Gemini 500 lighting kit where we could.
September will be much more of a challenge, when we will be going back to photograph each animal against a white roll. We will be constructing a studio in one of the empty bays in the gallery, and shooting every animal before it is packed and stored for the refurbishment over September.
