Print Recognition Workshop

Today Anna & Elaine attended a workshop run by JRUL’s very own Public Programmes Manager, Jacqui Fortnum.  Using a range of items from the JRUL eclectic collections, the workshop covered how to recognise a variety of printing techniques:

  • Relief prints – woodcut, wood engraving, metalcut & linocuts
  • Intaglio prints – engraving, etching, aquatint, Mezzotint & drypoint
  • Planographic prints – lithograph, stencil & silkscreen

It was an extremely useful session and Anna will be able to use the information in her cataloguing work.
